The Southern California Chapter of IAFN has offered an annual forensic training conference that brought speakers from all over the nation to train nurses in the field and who are interested in the field of forensics. There has been a wide array of topics including child abuse, death investigation, interviewing techniques, sexual assault, gunshot wounds, domestic violence, drug related assaults, and many other topics in the world of forensic nursing. The conferences were open to all disciplines interested in forensics. Members of IAFN who are chapter members benefit by being offered a reduced tuition fee. The nurses also receive free Continuing Education Units (CE).

During the year, the chapter meetings offer 1-2 CE units through educational venues with a quality speaker for those who attend. Peer Review is also held and members are encouraged to bring cases for presentation. Lunch is provided and attendees are requested to contribute for the meal. The business meeting will include reports on activities and address concerns and suggestions for increasing membership and generating projects.

All are welcome...bring a guest and invite students!

If you have an upcoming program or event, news item, or information that you would like to pass along, please, contact Cari and it can be posted on our website.
